Greek Drama Marathon Read
A Special
Members-Only Event

Friday, January 2, 2026
12:00 noon until we’re finished!

Educator Members: Free
Non-Educator Members: $10

Location: The MacMillan Institute | 518 East Wheatland Road | Duncanville, Texas 75116

MacMillan Institute Members—educators & neighbors—will be invited to this special event to end the year & anticipate the future. Audience will join actors in a performance reading of Aeschylus’ Oresteia, the first political comment on the newly established system the Greeks called democracy. This trilogy is an imaginative representation of the movement from “barbarism to civilization,” of tribe to nascent polis, important topics for our day. We’ll finish the Marathon with Aristophanes’ gentle comedy Peace in the tradition of a Greek Dramatic Festival.

Come to read or simply to experience the dynamic of this moving communal experience.
